Papervision TODO
Papervision 2.0 is cool but surprisingly oldschool/low-level, when you are used to Flex and/or modeling tools like Blender/3dMax,SchetchUp.
A small selection of what I have been found annoying is that:
- You cannot easily access a camera object from Collada and expect it to be compatible with your PV scene.
- You have to recursively loop through all triangles and toggle the property “interactive” on the material!
- You cannot access a DisplayObject3D´s width/height/depth!
- The DisplayObject3D is shown/hidden by a boolean property called “invisible” (compared to the flex displayobject´s visible)!
- The children property of DisplayObject3D is a Dictionary (compared to the flex displayobject´s array)!
I am very curious how theses thing are treated in PaperVisionX.
I will keep adding more items to this list and present it to Seb Lee-Delisle and the FOTB Papervision workshop, and can hopefully return with some nice points in September.
